Default Cayenne GTS vs ???

Hi All,

I’m splurging on my next daily. I was hot on the Cayenne Coupe GTS until I learned the glass roof is fixed. So I’m now going to consider the Cayenne GTS as it has an operable sunroof.

My thought is I want to go with a gorgeous sounding V8 before I end up going electric.

Another option that comes to mind is the Levante Modena S. But anyone I know who works in the auto industry has said Cayenne > Levante.

I considered the non-Autobiography V8 RR but I think it’s a bit presumptuous in a way the Cayenne isn’t and I think it’s a bit too mature for my age (41). And I can’t wait until the new RR Sport is released.

I was hot on the GLC63S but I’d have to wait until Fall for a 2023 and I’d like a new vehicle by Summer (S5 Sportback lease is up in May and I’m thinking of buying it out, driving until nee vehicle arrives then selling it).

It doesn’t have to be an SUV, but no coupes. And I want AWD.

Are there any other options I’m clearly missing? Anyone have any issues with the new Cayennes?

🙏🏻

IMO nothing really drives like a Cayenne once you put real seat time on, is a polished package...also IMO, the Cayenne coupe doesn't make sense, just a loss of cargo space, original is king

V8 Defender?

My daughter has the 6 cylinder 110 version and we swapped our Macan GTS with her for a few weeks over Christmas. It's a very big vehicle with plenty of space for four adults and luggage. It's a bit spartan inside and it isn't Porsche peppy but maybe the V8 is different.

I ordered a Cayenne GTS last April, fully specced the way I want it.for me its the best option. Not a fan of Cayenne Coupes at all.

However, Porsche production is way behind and as of now it is slated for production February 4 after several reschedules. You will need to check availability .....

Order now and maybe you'll have one for next winter.
None of the ones you mentioned interests me in the least, the Cayenne is a solid vehicle, high quality, V8 is superb. All the others would be second choices for sure.

You missed RS6, E63 Estate, X5M, SQ7 and of course a G wag.

Thanks, All! I believe I’m looking at 6 months or so for delivery.

I’m not a wagon guy. I respect them for what they are, but I won’t drive one. RSQ8 was right up there with the GTS for me. It’s actually faster, but it sounds neutered. There is no soul in it’s exhaust. I love abs but too much $$$. X5M is supposed to be a great vehicle but I’m not totally sold on its design. I like the Porsche & Audi more.

The Jag was mentioned, and sounds great, but it’s not my style. Feels a bit feminine to my eyes.

Appreciate the feedback. Sounds like I wouldn’t regret a Cayenne.

Well, if we're spending your money, pony up for the Urus!

I have 2 sports cars for sporty driving. I want my suv to have a peppy N/A V6 and living room couch comfort for my long highway drives. Currently have a gen 2 Ford Edge. Today I'd buy a Palisade or Telluride.

Those are both great SUVs. My wife is on her second Explorer and she loves it. It does really have everything one needs.

I don’t drive long distances and am still young enough to prefer a dynamic ride over smoothness. I can see myself enjoying a Range or a Continental GT, with a more comfortable ride, in 10 years. I also have very little personal time to use my coupes, so having a daily that is exciting to drive is important to me.
