Nice swipe at the 928, but going fast is what my two race cars plus the third one I sometimes rent are for. One is an AMG GT4 and the second a Radical. The one I rent is a tube frame TA2, so I am afraid I have the speed department covered at least in a car. And, I'll bet you anything I can drive the 928 faster around any track of your choosing than you can any Porsche of your choosing. I am sure you have me beat on the street though... I have certainly been known to exceed the speed limit now and then, but nowhere near 300% of the posted limit and especially not in a populated, urban area. Only an idiot with complete disregard for human life would do that. Hopefully you'll still feel the same when they do it on the road your kid is riding his or her scooter on.

If the rape analogy failed, let's try shooting... it's just so easy to fire off a few rounds when there's no one around than go to a gun club / range which costs money, is not convenient, blah blah blah. Is that a better one that you can more easily understand?

Not difficult to understand, just a poor/extreme example. When it comes to shooting I usually simply set up some targets in the gravel pit behind the cottage.

You might want to cut that cop some slack. I met a cop many many years ago who was the first on scene to a head on collision. 5 fatalities. One car going too fast, lost control and crossed the line. The collision turned two cars into a single block of metal. He described what he saw in just horrific terms.

Some cops they see things that we in private Porsche chat lines never see. There are a lot of traffic fatalities in York Region and we just see the headlines. The cops and EMS see all of it.

Kudos to the cops to try and reduce the carnage.

Cops are not looking to “reduce the carnage”. They are tax collectors looking to meet their quota every month.

For me, the issue is that on many of the roads that I drive regularly (Hwys 7, 41, 60, 132), going >50km/h over when passing is simply not stunt driving. These are 80km/h roads. Legally passing someone who is driving 80km/h on a two lane road is actually safer at 130km/h than at lower speeds. I don't force other people to brake or make them feel that I am endangering them. And then there are those who drive slow and then accelerate when you try to pass who need to be safely dealt with.

Trust me when I tell you that I am better armed to deal with an issue at my house than the po-po if the need were to arise.
