I love that colour! I can't believe how well those cars have aged, even the popup headlights, which look horribly outdated on most cars of the era.

You should have kept those seats!
How do you know it is your car?

For many of us, 944s were that "dream car" that we would be lucky if we saw one or two in a summer.
My how the world has changed.
If I found myself with ample space and the motivation and time for a project car, it would 100% be a 944.

You should buy it back.

Nice car, I like the description, lots of new parts. Yup it’s a 944 and they do have an appetite for new parts.

Looks good!. I can guarantee you that the first ten cars I owned may still exist in a way, melted to molten steel and remanufactured as washing machines or the like.

Is that asking price realistic? - truly have no idea the history/ worth of the 944 porsches were

(EDIT: Just looked up prices on AT for 986 Boxsters - which I know a little about.... and man, spring asking prices are crazy....)

My son was cruising the adds and came across it, as soon as he showed me i knew it was mine. Very rare combination. How many diamond Blue 944S cars can there be with black sport seats and 928 style rims. they only made the car for 2 years. plus i saw the led i installed for the aftermarket alarm at the time.
Micheal sent him the VIN and sure enough the guy responded and said that was it.

i paid 11k for it in 1995. sold it for 15K in 2002 ( they were going for 9-10 at the time but the guy wanted my car real bad... i sold it for 15 k. its had quite a cool story since then and now resides in Oakville.
It really was a great car and enjoyed every minute i owned it. i would consider buying it back but i just dont have the space.
it showed up in 95, my son showed up in 97,,,, so it has a special meaning to him and he really wants to buy it, but im not sure he is ready to buy a 30+ 944.

i wondered about price too as i havn't looked at these cars in over 20 years. but apparently the price is not out of line.. and it has been looked after well

i chatted with the owner and he wants me to go meet him , and offered Micheal can take it for a drive.... that would mean a lot to him to get to drive the car he grew up in.

wow, that is cool! alas, the first Porsche i drove for a while at 16 was Dad's beat up old 914, which was already rusting away, and am sure is long deceased by now due to the structural damage from rust. targa top wouldn't latch until he ran giant square tubing across the bottom to take out the sag. the first Porsche that was 'mine' was an '83 944, which hydrolocked going through a Texas rain, and got scrapped sadly.
