Default WTB: Enclosed Trailer

I'm in the market for an enclosed trailer. Looking for 18-24 ft, with driver-side escape door. Ideally would like one that already has cabinets/tire rack/suretrak/etc but am open to seeing what is out there.

Racers: this is the perfect opportunity for you to sell your current trailer and upgrade to a bigger one!

Thanks!

-Jonathan

I was just starting also looking into for next season but buying new so that I could get what I want added to it since it will also be used to camp in while at the track. Thinking of a Cargo Express AXCH8.5X20TE2 (7000 lb gvwr) will be better suited for max payload capacity since I am pulling with a Cayenne 7700 lbs limit.

How's it going jumper!? long time... what are you racing in?

Same idea here - looking to camp at the track in the trailer and have the trailer fully race-prep'd so I don't have to bother loading/unloading each weekend. Will certainly be an upgrade from the open trailer, tailgate toolbox and tent setup I'm currently used to! Will see what is available on the used market before I dive down the new unit customization rabbit hole!

Just DE but I live 2 hours from CTMP or Calabogie and tired of the drive back and forth and not having space for extra tires and gear.

I used to do racing weekends to tremblanc in my Honda Civic 13oo four speed standard for Honda Michelin. Four shaved tires in the back and toolbox and a tent.
Trailer? Enclosed? This is racing ****. post pics.

Used aluminum, out of the states, would be my search. They are built there, there are a lot more of them, they are better priced, and everyone is looking to upgrade, and those Americans can write this kind of stuff off.

Sounds like a blast! LCMT is such a fantastic track, and venue.

Definitely keeping my eyes open for opportunities south of the border... there certainly isn't an abundance of availability right now.

Will post pics once I find a trailer, until then, here's what I need it for...

Jonathan,

If you have the parking space , get a 24 ft trailer !
I have a 20 ft and with the car,two sets of wheels , generator, welder , air compressor, ez-up, fuel jugs, chairs, tables,BBQ, scooter and all the tools i bring it is
rather tight.
We sleep in the trailer at Tremblant and Mosport during the VARAC events and once most of the stuff is out , a thick inflatable queen mattress makes it quite comfortable.I load up the pickup
with the other comforts of home items so it isn't bad ... but a 24 ft would make life a whole lot easier !

Just sayin ...

Cheers
Phil

Great advice Phil! I have the space, so will go 24 if I can find one that fits the bill! Everyone I talk to echos what you say above... and always wishes they'd gone bigger from the start!

Hopefully we cross paths at VARAC

Thanks - have been watching on there... would travel south (or find a way... hmmm) if the right one comes up. Preference of course is something within ON/QC.

I'm pre registered for the 2021 VARAC GP in June , and along with the three Classic races at Tremblant , i'm sure we'll run into each other at one point.Drop by anytime , Olive Green SP2 #96.
Are you doing the Formula Ford series ?
Just a heads up ... with a 28 ft trailer , good luck parking in the paddocks at Tremblant , the parking ***** are something else as compared to parking at Mosport ...

Cheers
Phil

Cheers - I guess I should update...

Budget is $15k CAD. 28' I think too big for me... towing with an F150, which I consider light duty and a trailer that big gets very "sway happy" even with a weight distribution hitch. I think 20-22 is the sweet spot.

Any thoughts on size from people towing with 1/2 ton trucks?
