Default Wasaga Beach rally

Can anybody shed light on what happened up there over this weekend? The only thing I’m able to ascertain is it involved imported cars and in other years the meet gathered in the USA.

More concerning is can a small town mayor actually have the power to limit access to said town for residents only?

This is one big reason why we have a second wave.

Yes, small town or not - its called the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act which uses the Provincial Offenses Act (to issue fines) which included three new offenses concerning the pandemic and it was signed into law by a right wing premier of Ontario - one Mr Doug Ford in March of this year. 'Ontario’s Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act that prohibits public events and social gatherings of more than five people, replacing the previous emergency order prohibiting gatherings of more than 50 people.' It was not the mayor that blocked the roads into the town it was the OPP on the orders of the Provincial Government. Try to keep up.

And those stupid drivers doing burnouts in the middle of the crowds. I hope the OPP has some good videos of the licence plates.
We all have to get serious about the second wave! I hope that the next time this happens that the OPP issues 1,000 tickets.

I heard an interview of one of the "participants" and he said that most people going to the meet with their cars knew they could/would get fines and budget for it in preparation for the event.

What a bunch of a$$holes!

No it because at least here in Quebec the gov sat around for 3 months and did nothing. Once school's opened cases sky rocketed. But hey it's our fault sitting on deck having a beer with friends.

They knew this event was going to happen 2 days before. So the roadblocks are just a few days late. LOL

This is part of the H20i culture, i have been to it a few times in Ocean City - it was a good time at the time
Everyone expects their car to be towed and/or ticketed, there is an award for "most tickets" and in fact "Write The Ticket" is the unofficial Slogan of the week long event
but its a **** show i agree i didn't go and wouldn't go again
i feel bad for the city, it does get destroyed every year and residents hate but but local business wait for the business all year and welcome everyone with open arms

Canadians have a very very big presence in Ocean City for H20i, since border was closed Wasaga was the Unofficial Unsanctioned location for the folks here

Morons. We set a new case record yesterday, and I'm sure this contributed to it.

Takes a week or two before this circus act adds the total.
