Canadian Blue Book value for 996TT?
Does anyone know what the blue book value would be on a fair condition 100k km 2001 996 Turbo? I went to the KBB.ca site but their turbos start at MY2007 and nothing before that. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

why would you want blue book value? it is not used for transferring at service ontario for that car. if looking for value of the car need to know condition, options, stick or tip, any repaint, etc. value is between 35 and 65 k. be careful lots of bad examples out there, and a few good ones. great cars btw

Having bought one last fall (a 2003), Service Ontario has no prescribed wholesale value to base HST on, so your tax is based on what your bill of sale shows.
Not sure about wholesale value but I didnt see one for sale that was in decent shape for less than $40K. Some very high mileage or rough ones that I looked at were list at that price too. Not sure that they would have sold for.

If anyone can find a clean 996 Turbo without major issues or crash history for under $50k CAD, I'd be amazed. Their values have been rising steadily over the last 5 years. Most 996 Turbos I've seen have been in the $55-80k range in recent times depending on condition, mileage, coupe or cabrio, and manual or tiptronic. Manual coupes are worth more than tiptronic cabs.

Service Ontario uses (or at least used to use) the Red Book. THey're the only people that do, so read into that what you will If they can't find the value and they don't believe the bill of sale, as Danny said, they'll ask for an appraisal. But if you have a realistic figure on your bill of sale (especially if from a dealer), they'll usually accept it. I've never once required an appraisal.

For what it's worth service ontario just went off of my bill of sale in 2019 for my 996. I initially put $1000 and the lady behind the counter told me I should probably go higher so it doesn't look completely suspicious so I amended it to $2500. Maybe I just got lucky but I don't think you need an appraisal.

some of the offices will accept bill of sale but the ministry says if over 14 years needs appraisal. I think the rural offices do this more often.

Interesting.... only time I actually needed an appraisal was when I bought a 996 C4s with a blown engine, and they wanted to charge me on the red book price. The appraisal saved me a significant amount in taxes.
