Every time I compare local websites vs Tirerack for track tires, Tirerack is always a lot more expensive. When you factor in duty, freight and exchange rate there is no way I can't get them cheaper from sites like Costco or Pmctire

That's 17 years ago. Canadian tire industry have changed a lot since then.

I'll back Greg on the Winter tire subject ...
Dropped by my local tire shop this week and enquired about a new set of Nokian Tires for my Subaru and the owner confirmed that there are no
shortages of tires this year , he just said to wait until the tire companies come out with the Fall rebates and to place my order with him.

Cheers
Phil

My experience is that Costco is much cheaper than tirerack in Canada. Also very competitive and sometimes cheaper than Costco is Touchette here in Montreal. They support us at the DE's at LCMT..

I just had a set of Bridgestone RE980's installed on my 991. I paid about the same in Canadian dollars as they're paying down south in USD - in both cases, around $1,200 USD or CAD all-in. Even got a $70 shop card as well

Nokian has major stock issues last year in certain sizes, specifically 225 45 18... The distributor for Nokian (Stox) sold out an entire pre supply in a few weeks vs months.. eveyone went Nokian crazy. Nokian HQ assured no supply issues this year. It was so bad because people had pre bought tires and had to get switched to Conti or Michelin's... The only benefit is that Nokian NA is in Colecester VT so if something needs to be special ordered turn around is decently quick.

Nokian always has the 70-120$ gift card rebate.

The tire game has changed drastically in Canada. Prices are competitive now even at the wholesale level. No choice because online places such as PMC or Quattro will sell under cost. I don't believe Nokian allows online sale

Just ordered 4 tires for my Cayman GTS from PMC Tire.

My two usual suppliers could not get me the PS4S in a N0/Porsche specific version. One could get the fronts while the other only the rears.

Then I went online last night and on PMC's website it said they had both the fronts and rears in the Porsche specification.

Waited until this morning to double check with them and sure enough they had exactly what I wanted and needed... They should arrive by Friday of this week.

Their price was very good too, a bit more expensive than my first choice supplier but cheaper than my second choice supplier. Compared to Tire Rack they were also cheaper... Shipping is free when you buy 4 tires.

Total price including are wonderful provincial and federal taxes was $2267.75.

Glad you could find them! That was part of what pushed me to RE980's. I couldn't find N0 spec MP4S anywhere. I would have probably preferred to go with them as I have MP4S on my daily driver (Golf R) and they are a wonderful tire. But, at the same time, the road noise in my 911 is now considerably more tolerable with these all seasons... I can actually hear the induction noises and PSE a whole bunch clearer now as they're not competing as much with the roar from the tires.

Normally I agree but, at least in my sizes, it's the difference between a wheel protector lip on the tire and not having one. I hate having front tires with the lip and rear tires without.
