Default 2015 981 Valuation

This is my dream car. My second Porsche with the 1st one being a 2004 Boxster. Reality is I'm just not driving the car as much as it should be driven. Various reasons for this. 2015 with just over 15000kms. Last 3 summers only about 1400kms each. Never seen winter or rain for that matter. I ordered from factory.
So I'm thinking of possibly letting it go though not at all sure. Prices seem to be all over the place. Extremely rare to see a Carmine Red base 981. I doubt another in Canada. Last of the NA Boxsters.
Full 3 year service done last summer.
Specked out now for a 718 would be about $85000 I think.

Looking for advice on value.

2015 Porsche 981
Manual Trans
Carmine Red, Black Interior
Roll Bars Painted Exterior Color
Bose
Leather Package (dash and door panels)
Crest On Head Rests
Sport Steering wheel
Sports Tail Pipe
Carmine Red Interior Painted Dash And Door Trims
19" Wheels
Phaff Sport Exhaust (car sounds amazing)
Smoking Package
Model Delete
"Porsche" on trunk lid in black

I had Phaff paint the wheels satin matt grey and they also painted the calipers Carmine Red before I took possession.
No dents, scratches. Maybe 2 - 3 stone chips.

I know this isnt an apples to apples comparison...but it might be ia start.

there are 2 2015 981 caymans for sale in the gta..one guards red the other carmine. Both PDK...both 20"rims...smokers package...Bose...base. both look to be in the 33k km range. One private one dealer sale. $52k. GTS caymans look to be in the $80k area.

Why not take a few trips to fall back in love with it?

Blue Mountains, Prince Edward County, NOTL, etc.

I put 5,000 km on my car since July 31st

Over the last 15 years I can't tell you how many times I've done those drives in a Porsche. About 65000kms driving Ontario roads on weekends. Just looking at my options.

Perhaps a trip to the Cabot Trail mixed in with a round at Cabot Links.

I find base models a tough sell. Got more by trading in my Base Cayman than selling privately

My 2004 base sold privately in a flash at 11 years old. Can't argue with clean, no story cars.

Manual gearbox makes it more interesting to some enthusiasts, but pool of interested buyers will be smaller than a PDK car. Painted interior trim will be a "love it" or "hate it" thing for potential buyers. If Sport Exhaust is OE that will be a bonus; if Pfaff added some off-brand or self-branded components that will be a negative to many buyers. You don't say what seats you have; 14-ways or 18-ways will add value, as will Sport Plus 4 ways for some folks. Big questions for potential buyers will be whether the 4-year major service has been done (it's done by time or miles whatever comes first...most owners it's time) and condition of the tires.

If 4-year service done and rear tires replaced or still below 50% wear (fronts would still be OK at 15k kilometers) I'd price it in the low to mid $50s. Bad time of year to put a Boxster on the market though. You might want to hold off until the spring.

Your reply makes sense if the buyer is a Porsche enthusiast. Many just want a Porsche because they like the looks and want a weekend sports car. They know nothing about most of the items you're referring too.
My thought about value is high 50's - low 60's. If your correct then 95% of the cars listed are never going to sell as they are way over priced. Then again I could be wrong.

i think 2015 caymans available for the low 50s as 9 lives points out will put downward pressure on your Boxster.

But if you are not in a rush and you are willing to wait for the right buyer you will likely make out fine..

I still haven't decided. Money isn't an issue. I'd keep before I'd give it away. Worse things could happen. Lol.

With temperature reaching single digits in a few days, needless to say it's not the best time to sell a convertible. You will likely have better luck in early spring.

I agree the fall is the best time of the year to enjoy the roof down! Maybe above single digits though.
