I'm looking at pulling the trigger on a manual Targa 996... But I live in Quebec and the car is in Toronto...Any volunteers willing to stop by and have a quick look at the car for me? Ideally, you need to be mechanically inclined and Porsche enthusiast obviously. Not looking for a PPI, just a good look and general feeling.

be careful of the dealers in that area. pretty sleazy part of town and sleazy dealers. Not to say there can't be an exception to the rule. Good luck. Be sure to bore scope engine and cut filter before buying.

I'd be even more careful. that is a bad area for business, for residential it is even better. With COVID lots of scams. Not sure if I would even visit a residence for a Porsche for sale in that area. Be careful and don't take cash or jewellery. Google Jane and finch, same type of area.

Side note, the Targa I'm looking at is usually at Just Jeep during the day, a dedicated Jeep dealership. The owner works there/own the place I think and said it would be easy to swing by and have a look there during the day.

Unfortunately, without any feedback, I'll have to move on.

I came on to see where to get brake pads and saw your thread. I've got an '02 Targa Manual that I was just starting to think of selling. I'm in Kingston.
Its a beautiful car. Factory replaced engine in 05 when the whole IMS thing started to come out. Its got a full Fabspeed competition system with IPD plenum. Seal Grey with PSM, Bose, heated seats. Been treated like gold for the last 8 years that I've owned it.
