Default PTN Track Day at CTMP - Aug 3,2020

PTN Track Day at CTMP.
Thanks to CTMP, Infinite Motorsports, Sports Car Boutique, European Automotive and the McEwan Group.
Epic day at the racetrack with quite the variety of cars. Was really hoping to see the Arbath on track.

Great pics, thanks for posting. Very, very cool! I wish I could've attended. Btw, what was in the boxes? Goodies?

Thanks for posting. I really wanted to attend but long weekend plans were already in place.

I assume that those weren’t instructors in the passenger seat or were they allowed with masks? As a novice/intermediate I really found having the instructor beside me for at least the first few sessions very helpful.

Three groups identified via A,B & C with appropriate wrist bands. There were 20 instructors present and were mandatory for novice/intermediate.
Masks were mandatory when not solo in car.

No rain but there were a few damp spots early in the morning. Sun was out after 1pm.
The bright lime green 997 (3rd in the cue) blew his engine on the back straight so there was a 20 minute delay to clean up the oil.

Hey Will did you actually go on the track at speed ???

i did a parade lap once and was told dont worry it is just a parade lap.. then the guy in front took off like a shot .. a little unnerving for me to try and keep up with a " parade lap" of guys rubber banding when i have never been on the track before .... it was a short but illustrious track career for me .
I decided it was way more fun to be Greg's passenger in his C4S or Marks ZR1

By oil all over the place doesn't sound like a rebuild option or even a block refund. Jake also stated 1/3 of his rebuilds are now 2009+ engines with bore scoring. Seems #1 cylinder are more prone to it.

yeah sounds like bore scoring is quickly surpassing "IMS issues" as the water cooled Porsche issue to be aware of.. the first time I had heard of it was Jonathan Rolstein on his Cayenne. Boy has the landscape changed since then.. i imagine still a very small portion of the population, but the severity is high if not the frequency.

I did not track as I was "working" taking pic all day. Didn't even take the car as I was driving around the infield rather than hoofing it from point to point.
I have taken the car on the Porscheplatz "parade" laps a few times and yes, although your not racing, it is rather spirited and fun just the same.
