This is what put me off on the 360. The 430 had easy access to the chain from a compartment inside the car. 430 is outside my comfort zone

the engine doesn't come out in a 360. access panel behind seats for belt changes. 355 and older require removal

found mine too old for my liking.

If you want a car that will drain you wallet then get a Ferrari. As good as they are, they are not reliable or easy to work on.

Probably trying to pass on a $10k transmission rebuilt issue on to someone. Hard to believe that he didn't know. Laughable.

You can do about 85% of what you need with the engine in the car. Belts can be replaced through the acess panel , you will need to remove the seats. I drove a 360 all of last summer and it was a blast. Yes it's dated and all the interior switch gear gets sticky/ worn but it makes all the correct sounds.

2nd gear issue is actually rather common on abused examples. Make sure you get on the good side of the local Ferrari mechanic. Our local guy is great and we help eachother out with car stuff.

Curious as to your thoughts on mileage and value on a 360 manual. What would be considered a driver as far as mileage? Where does the value drop off? 5000km? 10000km?

We have two 360s one is my business partner with about 40k and the one I got had 90k so it got driven. He actually prefers his R8 V10 Stick. A stamped service history or binder full of invoices will do more for value. Ferraris need to be driven! And driven hard. Last I checked Ferrari Quebec had a 360 stick for around 120k.

Looks like thread got derailed a bit. But to answer OP's question.
With TD. Here's what I pay
991.2 Targa GTS: $180
Ferrari 458: $225/ month. No mileage / commute restriction

Yes, don't go out with Italian women.

I'm unsure. Ferraris arent horrible for reliability and for most parts they aren't bad, service stuff anyways. The older models are easy enough to DIY for most. It reminds me of the people who buy a used Bentley and except VW Golf running costs

They're like an airplane when it comes to maintenance. They spend a lot of time in the hangar.

When you lift up and older Ferrari, it looks like a kit car put together by someone in their garage.

Well that and it'll be $15K to fix;-)

I had a mint 2001 360 manual. What a great car. Regret selling it. It also would grind 2nd gear on high-RPM shifts. I had the whole service history and after reading it more carefully there was a service at Ferrari of Quebec that noted "2nd gear synchro!" Actually had the exclamation mark LOL...
