Default Belated Introduction

Long-time lurker and over-due for a proper introduction. I've enjoyed and learned so much from these forums over the years.
After an initial mid-life crisis import of a 06 Carrera S (should have kept it)... at the end of last summer I found my dream 1992 C2 964.
The car is a well-documented one-owner completely stock car and after some back and forth with the local Porsche dealer I took the risk and bought it sight unseen. Flew down to Minnesota and drove it home over 1,000 miles in two days and enjoyed every minute of it.
Thanks again to Adam for organizing the lockdown therapy cruise the other weekend. Hope to be a more active member going forward.

This was the first dealer pic I saw when I knew the car would be mine.

It looks great! Looks like Cup 2 wheels and stock suspension. If you are bored some day post the details about buying in the US and importing. I came close to doing it for my 993 and I was always curious how it work in the end.

Thanks guys.

Importing was super easy. No duty on a 25+yr old car. Just have to use a broker for an ITN/AES filing for a small fee.
I wired the money and made sure the dealer had the original title in hand and then flew down.
After a quick stop for VIN inspection at the Queenston Lewiston crossing on the US side your done.
Back to Canada to pay your taxes and get a safety.
Super easy. I've done it twice.

I'll be there on the 7th.

Those are actually called Design 92 wheels but a lot of people call them 16" Cup wheels to differentiate them from the 17" Cup wheels found on the 964 Turbo cars and optioned on later 964's. They would have been period correct for that model year, being a 1992. They're also among one of the lightest OEM wheels to fit on a 964.

I had a quick look at your car before the cruise last weekend and the paint is outstanding for a 28 year old car.
Great find, Mike

Thanks Mike, some of the credit rightly goes to Gerard and co. at the Refinery for rolling back the years.
