I have a low profile BLACK JACK from costco. been running that for 20 years.
I still wouldn't fit under my lowered 997, but driving onto a 2x4 solved that.
3 ton could lift most of my suburban
.I seem to be the go to friend to change snow tires over.
At least 12 cars, twice a year. So a well used jack.
Also in my tool box, 24" breaker bar, and dewalt 1/2 in torque wrench. Both from CT.
Also have a 15 Y/O 20v 1/2 mastercaft impact. It never broke tight nuts, even when new. It's getting tired now.
Everyone complains, but no one throws in five buck for tools. So they can keep complaining....
Yes, I use regular chrome sockets. I am a rebel in my own mind.
Though, I have one 17mm deep socket that seems to have split. I will be exchanging it at CT for their lifetime guarantee.
I always put an axle stand under the vehicle when doing work. Plus a slide any spare wheel under the car for added safety.
Better a dented wheel, that a dented head?

x2 - I made wife and 2 kids do the snow tires on the Macan. They were only to use the kit from the car. My wife found the Porsche wrench a little short, and she could not bust the bolts. I put in a larger wrench in the trunk. Better to practice in the well lite and warm garage with a flat cement floor. Don't forget to set the parking brake, and chalk the wheels.
I also added gloves, plastic tarp and a flashlight to the trunk. Also a plug kit. Don't think she could actually use it, it is more for me.
If your car has tire goo. Check the expiry date.

Black Jack was always pretty solid...at least the older ones.

I tell ya, getting proper equipment makes a world of difference...don't mind that it's not a Porsche on the lift (this was the first car I put on the lift) but put this in my garage a few years back:

You always miss the ones you loved.
I can't seem to sell my Mom's 2003 745i. She paid nearly 100k for this car. I'm asking $5k, I've accepted a few 3500 offers. Still no cash in hand. Starting to hate that car.

Ive been waiting for this new Cdn Tire jack to go on sale, and it is now for 1/3rd off. I rushed in to buy it. ITS A BEAST. It will easily raise my MDX full height and its easily low enough to get under my lowered GT4. PERFECT.
Its massive - weighs 100lbs. This floor jack is a monster.

I prefer ones with the solid front roller like this:
https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/m...-0090021p.html

the one I use is made by eliminator.
Every year it is a good idea to tighten all the nuts and bolts as they can come loose.

id prefer that front wheel too but needed something that would lift way up but still be low profile. This was the highest I found that would work. I couldn’t believe how big this actually is tho!!!

Have the older michelin branded one like this...has been solid, about the only thing I don't like is how touchy the release mechanism is. That said, I use my lift now and rarely pull out the floor jacks anymore.

That’s a complaint I’ve seen on this jack too so they’re probably the same just with different branding.

great heads up to make sure I put jack stands under it. For once I’m actually going to be stoked to change wheels on the Mdx come winter times. I’ve been doing it with the OEM scissor jack because my floor jack wouldn’t go high enough.

finding a place to put this monster is another problem!!!
