In my humble opinion and while window shopping the ads for the 997.1 turbo's that come up for sale for over a year now .....I can say that the proper / magic number for a low kms / clean manual coupe with decent options is $80,000cdn .... Convertibles and PDK less 10k give or take a few grand more for any special options etc. I see many asking 100k but they sit forever for sale with no movement and eventually they wise up and list them for less.
Once you get to a 100k for a 997 you may as well save a bit more cash and then look for a 997 GT3.
Nice ones do come up from time to time but you need to move quickly to get them as the good ones don't last long ....

Auto Trader ... Just keep watching the ads daily ...You'll see what I mean .... a motivated seller and a nice clean car priced correctly will last about 2 to 3 days max and they are sold .. What you are left with are the same overpriced cars ... Many owned by dealers looking to make 20k on someone with Turbo fever ..

Auto Trader ... Just keep watching the ads daily ...You'll see what I mean .... a motivated seller and a nice clean car priced correctly will last about 2 to 3 days max and they are sold .. What you are left with are the same overpriced cars ... Many owned by dealers looking to make 20k on someone with Turbo fever ..
Well priced 997T pop up only once or twice a year and go quickly, everything else just sits there for months and months.

I’ve been looking at 996TT as well (prefer the looks over 997) and Canadian prices definitely overvalued.
if you look on bring a trailer decent examples go for 40-45k usd. So say 52-60 cad.
from what I seen here most are asking close to 70-80k

Funny you should send me that listing. I called those guys twice last week and apparently there’s only one guy there that can talk about that car and he hasn’t been available. No call back at all. I know their price is ridiculous and there’s no way I would pay it, but I wanted to check the car out. Also, if you google Elite Motors some nasty complaints come up.

If you are going to use BAT selling prices as an indication of what a car should sell for in Canada, you also need to look at the expenses of a Canadian buying a car on BAT, including: buyers fees, flights and hotel (if you want to see it), transport, import duties and taxes, etc...And then figure that you might actually spend a fair bit of money and not buy it - and that youll have those same expenses again!
That $40k US will turn into $70k plus Cdn pretty fast.
For reference, I sold my very good condition but 98k km modified 2002 turbo, well taken car of with 10years of records, and up to date service, for $57k in two days two years ago. I probably could have gotten more but my buyer was willing to put the private sale through a dealer which allowed me to get tax savings on my GT4, so I didnt haggle for an extra few k.
That $40k US will turn into $70k plus Cdn pretty fast.
