About to sign for first Porsche!
What a feeling, happy, nervous, buyer remorse before having signed, can't wait....so many feeling!
I'm about to sign for a CPO 2019 Carrera 4S with 4800Km, PDK, Carmine Red, PSE, Sport Chrono, leather/sport-tex 18 way seats, deviated stitching, GT steering wheel, steering column case in leather, seat heating, entry and drive, glass sunroof, illuminanted door sill plate, Bose, Carbon interior trim etc..
This will be our first Porsche.
Car is a Porsche Travel Experience Canada car. It has 4800 Km, 270 hours, was registered (punched) by Porsche on June 7th, 2019. Seems to have been driven from Toronto to Langley BC (accounts for the 4800Kms), where it was serviced for it's first oil change.
MSRP was $171755 CAD, asking was $144900 CAD , agreed upon is $141000 CAD, including exterior cover, front plate holes fixed and bumper re-spray, paint touch-up on hood, free storage for remainder of winter and waiting on 4 new tires. And forgot, front clip PPF at cost.
Any thoughts on the transaction?
Danny

Saw the car in person and drove it.
The bumper is resprayed because it has 4 holes from the Ontario license plate. Here in Quebec those are not necessary. So those 4 holes bugged me and Porsche offered to fill in the holes and respray the whole bumper. Having 4 holes is much worse fors future value as far as I'm concerned. They are also retouching the rock chips on the hood. The car was used by Porsche Canada and NO PPF was applied from the beginning. Imagine what driving true the rockies for 4800km can do to paint on the bumper.

But dealers will typically use a paint meter and determine that it was repainted. Any time that cosmetic repairs are done, it' a good practice to take a before and after picture to show prospective buyers when it's time to sell.

Did the same thing with my Cayman GTS because of the holes in the bumper.

I tried it on a Porsche bumper about a year ago. No reading. As also mentioned, 4 holes in the bumper is more of a problem to a prospective buyer.

Wow Danny, that is a super car with a great build spec, I love Carmine red. When Porsche Experience cars are hanging out at dealerships, they are always available for impromptu test rides (I always take advantage of that). Luckily, I never got hold of this one when it was on the west coast. However, what’s up with needing a net set of tires? (winter to summer tires or something like that?).

Fronts measured at 4mm and rears are at 3mm. Porsche's CPO check list calls for a minimum of 3mm. Fronts are 1\2 done and rears more than 1\2.
sales manager saw it too and told me he's trying the get Porsche to authorise new tires.

Congrats! Definitely put some PPF on that bumper a couple weeks after it's been painted.
It will be no where near as strong as original paint and stones will eat it for breakfast....
Otherwise how can you go wrong at that price?
Sweet deal. Nice find.
