One more data point here... last fall I bought 2011 Targa, had PPI done at Bero in West end. Total newbie here so I sure did not know or expect anything like pan removal or bore scope but did find them to be extremely thorough reporting on condition of bushings, suspension play, visible prior leak on fuel pump etc etc.
written report, time spent about 1.5 hours, charged me roughly $150 cannot remember exactly, and so far so good.
I used PPI report to negotiate new brakes, new battery and some other minor stuff. Well worth it.
bought the car at World Fine Cars on Kipling and had a very good experience, no BS no games just solid service. Their garage is also good, no complaints.
