My First 911

My First 911
Picked the car up yesterday in Montreal and drove it back to Toronto yesterday afternoon / evening. It was a very long decision process to get to this car, and a similarly long search actually to find it once I'd decided what to get. I came very close to a GT3 Touring, but decided that no back seat for my "only" fun car was a dealbreaker.
Specs: 2019 991.2 GTS. Perhaps not the wisest financial decision to get a new 991.2 just as the 992 is about to hit the streets, but I'm not wild about the new interior on the 992, and obviously it would be a long wait for a manual.
Colour: Chalk on Black / Bordeaux leather interior (an interior colour I initially thought I would hate, but then saw in person and loved). Diffuser, side skirts and rear grille are also painted in chalk.
7-speed manual (hence the very long search, since finding the right colour / options in manual proved very difficult in Canada)Options: Rear Axle Steering (another challenge: finding RAS in combination with manual and RWD), LED headlights in black, glass sunroof, heated seats, Bose sound, Porsche entry and drive, auto-dimming mirrors
Had the car ceramic coated and most of the car PPF'd with Expel film.
I'm already blown away by the split personality of this car. It is actually quite refined and comfortable on a long drive, but then felt incredibly agile and planted, when I left the 401 and spent some time on more challenging roads. Not nearly as raw as the GT3 Touring, but then that also reinforces the upside of the GTS as an all-rounder vs. the GT3 as a much more focused weekend car.

Congrats. Painted rear grill is a nice touch, something I'm tempted to do sometime down the road. If you're looking for a quick, easy mod, replace the orange side lenses with clear LEDs.
Don't worry about the 992. IMO, this was the "wise" choice.
