Default Personal liability insurance

We have a $15mm umbrella for all personal liability. Assume some of you have something similar, especially if you have a US residence.

AIG is exiting the Canadian market, so we need to replace. Can you tell me who you use?

Thanks

In my experience Chubb is the best. service is amazing and they deliver when you are in trouble. but they are not cheap.

What about diminished value? How does that work in Ontario? In Alberta AFAIK your SOL. Sorry to highjack your thread.

I also use Guarantee Gold and have been a client for over 20 years. Superb service and attention to detail.. Guarantee is part of the Cowan Group of companies headquartered in Cambridge. Maureen Cowan is Chair and Co-CEO so you aren't dealing with a faceless multi-national.
I suggest you contact Cowan's Private Client Risk Management office (Dorothy Story, 1-800-263-8346 #42222 or dorothy.storey@cowaninfinite.ca).
Tell her that a Porsche guy sent you!

$15,000,000 for a personal liability umbrella policy?

Holy Cow.

I was at the Standard $1M, and then just went up to $2M not too long ago....

What are you planning on doing that you may do $15M worth of damage? You're not taking flying lessons without the landing part are you?

You never know how creative an enterprising lawyer could be.

A friend has $2M on his car insurance policy. His son (21 at the time) rear ended a couple of seniors in a Lexus. Both cars written off. He was charged and NOT convicted. The Lexus owners children are suing for $5M. Because my friends son was a part time driver my friend is being sued.

^ BS statement of claims like that occur every single day. All the ambulance chaser lawyer ads have convinced the general public big payouts are only a call away lol 🙄

I was served with that kind of stupidity once upon a time for a car I let a family member borrow after a minor accident. Called the insurance company and said handle it that's why I pay you. Never heard of it again.

Personal injury lawyers are scourge of society. Thankfully the payouts aren’t as ludicrous as in the US.
