True but they're cheaper to fix.
I had the valve guides replaced on my Z06 because they've had issues.
Last year I lost oil pressure on the DVP in stop/go traffic. The car sounded normal, it wound up being a broken main bearing. I paid $2500 (engine re-builder cost) for new bearings and rings plus the crank was polished.
Compare what I spent on the above engine work to the ims/ cylinder scoring threads that pop up here from time to time I'm ahead. The ims issues is what scared me from buying another Porsche.
I only track my car a couple of times a year now.
When I had an SC the engine and drive train was bulletproof. It never gave me any issues whatsoever.
