I am going on a limb here and saying that with Tavares on the team (didn't have him when we went to 7 games last year) the Leafs will win in 7.

There is no doubt Boston are the heavy heavy favorites...

But as always it will come down to special teams goal tending and which team can stay healthy.

There is a reason the games are played on ice and not on paper...

Im with Danny as you gotta believe !!

The leafs haven't beat the Bruins in the playoffs since 1959.

2016/17 the leafs sweped Boston in the entire season series, never played them in the playoffs.
2017/18 leafs only lost one game to Boston all season and won the others. Were beaten in the 7th game of the playoff.
2018 /19 leafs lost 3 and won 1 .

so overall these teams are closer than you might imagine . i would even give the edge to the leafs on head to head play in recent history ..

To me last nights story wasnt how great the leafs were, because they weren't. They were solid. They stuck to the game plan, played a solid road game, didn't panic when they got down a goal, and a few good individual efforts.
it was really about what Boston didnt do . The crowd was quiet, there was no big wave we had to survive in the opening minutes. If that team shows up again we are going up 2-0 . But i think we are up for a much better team Saturday night , but it may be too late. They have given the leafs the confidence that this team is very beatable.
If Mathews can get his game to the playoff level it is going to be a very good series indeed....

They are giving the Leafs the odds of 13:1? I'll take that!

Tough Night Saturday ... I new a different Boston would show up , but i was shocked at what the officials allowed to happen. I get its the playoffs , but i thought the league was trying to show of its talent. They let both teams run at each other unchecked and of course it will get out of hand. If im the bruins i will do that too .. injure there palyers and slow them down , especially if the league is going to allow different officiating in the playoffs.

But i am not saying that is why the leafs lost .. the leafs best players were NOT their best players outside of Anderson, Mathews didnt show up again, Marner was good but no support from anyone . But i will say the leafs worst players WERE there worst players. Nylander was simply horrible and doesnt care, Muzzin showed how slow and clumsy he is with cement hands.

Boys better pick it up at home and im sure we will get a better effort.
The only grit was shown by Kadri but it was like one guy trying to take on a whole team, and there was no doubt Debruske kneed him and tried to take him out of the series.

Not sure which game your were watching. Matthews is a top end player so they're on him all the time. Check point totals so far for Crosby, Stamkos, Kucherov.

Did you not see Muzzin lay out Boston's highest scoring defender Torey Krug?

i saw Muzzin gave way the puck twice on lazy plays that resulted in two goals against .. i am a leaf fan but will not put that above true analysis. I don't care if he gets one hit , he cost them goals. and yes leaf players were running players too.
Good players get the job done and Mathews simply has not, yes you can make excuses for him but your best players have to show up .
