Default OT: 2018 Ford Expedition 0-60mph in 5.9 seconds...whodathunkit?

....wow..... I looked at a couple reviews from Motor Trend and C&D, and they are posting 0-60mph numbers around 5.9 seconds....

I was just curious as my bro-in-law has one, and we have a newly acquired and newly tuned 2015 Audi q7 tdi (Malone Stage 2) and was wondering if I could take him in a drag race.... His vehicle likely has the same torque 490ftlbs, but at a higher rpm 3500 vs 2000ish on the TDI.. The expedition might actually be lighter than our q7

I'm not so sure I'd win in a traffic light race.....

The Ford numbers are impressive, although we are happy with our purchase (we are coming from a 2011 Audi q7 TDI that is going back on the dieselgate buyback)

My 2001 Porsche Boxster S 6 speed manual might even be beat by the Expedition.... crazy....

Performance of modern cars vs us guys with older sports cars.... Progress

2015 Audi Q7: 2355kg (https://www.auto123.com/en/new-cars/...iv/#dimensions)
2018 Expedition: 2551-2628 (https://www.ford.ca/suvs/expedition/models/xlt/)

Expedition also has a 10-speed automatic so better ratio advantage.

If you Boxter S is running on all cylinders, you should smoke the land barge. However, those are still impressive numbers for something that heavy.

I'd be more concerned about 60-0 numbers in something that big and heavy.

2015 q7 TDI 2455kg curb weight... you pointed to the 3L Direct injection gasoline engine... good resource though.... https://www.auto123.com/en/new-cars/...ng/#dimensions

it'll be close... especially with the Performance Tune....

I need to get the tranny tuned next.... they seem'd to have taken the downhill engine breaking out when they did the dieselgate fix....

... oh yeah, she's going to go through a lot of brakes....

The 10-speed automatic is the same transmission used in the Mustang GT.

The small print probably says 0-60 in 80 litres

In 2015 I bought a new Jeep SRT. It was tons of fun but even with the large Brembos, I found it took forever to brake relative to the B7S4 I was driving before it.
