Parts in GTA
Hi folks,
Hoping some of you could share a few resources on where to get parts for my 986 Boxster.
I currently do not have any relationships with any of the dealership or independents right now. Besides the online route, are there any shops worth visiting? I'm looking to replace the fuel/gas cap and the rivet. The OE Porsche hood and trunk shocks are well over $100 each from the dealerships, so I would prefer an aftermarket alternative. I'm located in Humber Bay, but in between Downtown Toronto and Mississauga/Brampton for work. Any leads are appreciated Thanks in advance!

Pfaff offers a 10% discount to PCA members. Germanparts.ca is also a good source for normal stuff. Currently offering free shipping for next couple of days.

rockauto for shocks. I bought 2 of them for the trunk lid on my DD, and they were cheap. Under $20 each IIRC. I too need some for my frunk lid.
Gas cap? - what's wrong with it?
I bought my 1st used part for my boxster from Whale Tail. - Turn signal stalk assembly. I was charged about 1/3 the price of what RockAuto had listed.

The shipping from RockAuto was cost prohibitive, so I didn't go that route. Availability of the brand I wanted (Stabilus) was short in supply as well. It was on backorder.
I think the seal on my gas cap is dead; it threw a P0455 CEL code late in the evening because it was cold. I re-tightened it and in the morning, the CEL cleared and I cleared it with an OBD adapter.

if you're going to keep cars around for a few years,,,, I find I can add wipers or something to the order and spread the shipping costs out.... Wiper blades are a fraction of the cost of what's at B&M stores locally....

My go to places:
Germanparts.ca -> good local shop for maintenance items on the BMW or Porsche, but they don't carry everything
RockAuto.com -> has just about everything and multiple suppliers to choose from. I've found even after shipping & duties the prices for the more expensive items are still way cheaper than anything else here (hood struts probably not)
Pfaff -> For OE parts & if you're close by, talk to Jerome

FCP Euro in the US gives lifetime warranty on all parts. Could be helpful if keeping your car.
Ship to CBI in Niagara and go pick it up or crossborder pickups if you want them to bring it over for you.
or ship usps and have them mark box warranty replacement.
