thanks. i did look at your cars on your website. more interested in a non-salvage, complete car if possible. i mean you read about all these engine failures so one would think there are a few out there. harder to find than one would think however.

I think were all fixing ours now to 3.8l or 4l monsters. Mine ran fine with 3 scored cylinders just a ticking noise and more oil consumption so I think many people are probably still driving them around clueless that there is even a problem.

and that's cool that these dead cars are being brought back to life. i'd rather that than getting parted - i think more porsches on the road is a good thing. i guess the aftermarket has finally met the need, or perhaps the wave of dead m96 engines has played itself out. or, the rock-bottom pricing on these cars has made repair the only palatable option for owners with dead engines. regardless, i'm having a heck of a time finding a car to put my engine in that isn't a lot of work in other areas (body damage, water damage, etc.).

Any interest in a tiptronic 996 vert with a hardtop? I know someone with one, has knock in Scarborough... Don't recall what he wanted or if he fixed it but if interested I could pass the contact info or contact him first you let me know

No worries my first Boxster was tiptronic too, however in the colour I wanted but I hated the trans. Kept it until I found the one I wanted 6speed and sold the tip relatively easy. I understand your pain
