Lightbulb Visited Koenigsegg in Sweden

I was in Sweden earlier this month on a business trip and decided to drop by Koenigsegg's factory. I tried to email them ahead of time to get a factory tour but I was told they were fully booked. Thankfully they didn't judge me by my rental car (Brand spanking new Smart Forfour) and let me inside their showroom.

I was quite blown away by the workmanship but also the engineering. This is beyond automotive... certain next level, aviation grade stuff. The engine is so tucked in to the center of the car almost right behind the driver's head due to their u-shape fuel tank contained inside the monocoque. Impressive stuff.

I was there on the same day before they announced their 0-400-0 record. Christian stood few feet away from me and he was dressed casual in polo shirt and jeans.

If I have that kind of money it'll certainly be a Koenigsegg instead of a Singer!

PS: If you're there, be sure to check out the plane museum about 1 minute away. Got to check out the Gripen in person and had a retired Draken pilot as my tour guide.

Great photos, thanks for sharing them. Did you learn the proper pronunciation? Might be too late but here's an angry German to educate others if they're planning a trip in the future:

There's no need. The Swedes (and the Danes) speak perfect English.

In case you haven't seen it, there's a movie on Netflix called "Apex: The Story of the Hypercar" which could almost pass for Koenigsegg PR... it's worth watching.
