Default Off Topic But a Good FYI : 2 Stroke

CT (and Stihl) are selling premixed fuel for 2 stroke engines
40:1 and 50:1
For gas trimmers, chainsaws, etc

I thought this was brilliant.
No more stupid mixing

Good for 2 years after the can is opened.

Anyway.... I thought this was a really convenient option and pretty good FYI for Y'all

I hate mixing that stuff. I keep a syringe in my garage so I can do it but its still a pain. I actually didn't bother refilling my trimmer in the fall as I just couldn't be bothered.

I've used it for a few years now. They make both fuel for 2 stroke and 4 stroke small engines. Best part is absolutely no ethanol!

I go through a lot of fuel with my Stihl chainsaw. The premixed is convenient but expensive. Stihl sells mini oils - dump the full container into a 5 litre Jerry can and that’s it.

I don't mind mixing small amounts of 2 stroke. I use the Stihl oil currently, and only mix about 750mL at a time... Enough for 3 fills of my homeowner grade stihl equipment. I use a small disposable medicine cup to measure the oil, and a 1L measuring cup from Walmart to measure the gas.

I store it in a small aluminum MSR bottle. I use stabilized 91 octane from Cdn Tire as the base. I usually use the fuel up within 6 months.

I only use about 2L of premix per year. At this rate, I'll have a 20 yr supply of 2 stroke oil...

search for no spill jill on youtube.

Best gas cans ever for small equipment. My 11 yr old started a lawnmowing business with a push mower. Perfect for filling tanks on small engines. I found a 2.5 gallon one on amazon.ca

+1 it's about as easy as it gets. Just have to remember to use ethanol free 91 fuel.

Yes - if you don’t use ethanol free, you void your warrantee. Sneaky buggers.

I just eyeball the 2 stroke mix. If there isn't enough smoke, I add a little. If there is too much, I laugh and enjoy to fog show until the tank empties a little and then add some gas. I use regular engine oil. This is a leftover way of doing things from the Easternblock era!

At home, all the gardening equipment is electric. I don’t want the hassle of gas. All my equipment at the cottage including trimmer, blower, lawn tractor, chainsaw etc. Is gas.

i always have gas on hand for the boats and atv’s. I just use outboard oil and mix as needed. I always have 20 or 30 gallons of gas around. Only started using premium this year. Never a problem. I just use 40 to 1 regardless of what the 2 strokes call for. Last weed wachker ideas after 16 years.

I'm a two stroke mix guy April to October. Burn almost 20 litres in the spring of mix. While the premix can is a great idea, it's too expensive for my taste.
I use this handy measurer. Blower/saw/wipper/9hp outboard are all 50:1, lawn boy is 32:1. Mix with premium only. Toss any unfinished mix in the chevy at the end of the season. 2-3 liters into 120 liter tank has no effect.

993c4_Toronto- If you are using the Stihl mix oil, it will most likely also have fuel stabilizer in it. An added bonus.

Ya I've had my Stihl stuff for years with no problems. I really hate when the rechargeable batteries need to be replaced on my drill never mind if I had to throw out good working lawn equipment because the battery was more than it was worth.
