I saw a GT350R at Mosport last year, pretty impressive. I think the GT350 and GT350R share the same drive train. It's cheap compared to a new Porsche.

apparently they just sent him an oil filter removal tool with his serial number embossed into it. I thought that was pretty cool.
Removal tool or filter torque wrench?

Was just doing some reading on GT350 forums to learn about issues. Seems that numerous people got them earlier this year so they can re-torque the oil filters to spec every once and a while as part of maintenance checks.

The yellow one?
I've been it as an instructor at moderate speeds and the thing feels like a beast.

just the fitting tool and the torque required is stamped on it in inch pounds. he borrowed my torque wrench to do it.

I see Steeda has made a one off GT350X for a giveaway. Somehow they managed to put a 2.9L supercharger on that high compression engine and crank it up to 875 hp!

^What I can recall from the 6g forum, is that this motor is not FI friendly.. whether it's the harmonics or compression, it doesn't seem to like boost in any fashion.
I would say "buyer beware"..

^ I'm curious now. I thought that the engine was pretty flexible, and Hennessey had some good results with both superchargers and turbos - http://hennesseyperformance.com/vehi...-shelby-gt350/ (I've got no clue on their longevity). As the prices keep dropping on these, I'd totally consider getting one to throw a supercharger in. Haven't driven the new GT350, but the last BOSS302s were great for what they were.

^Wow, Hennessey shows some big numbers with engine work..(although hennessey has a sketch history) I went back to check 6g and it looks like a couple of big builds on that board were abandoned, another has the motor going under the knife with some porting, etc..
Thanks for sharing that link.. at least it shows some potential is there.

Took one out for a drive today. Sound is amazing and only went to 5500 rpm and felt like I was at the top end but there's another 2700 to go. The car is big and the feel is totally different than my 911 on simple street and highway driving as expected. Very little throttle gets you up to quick speeds, can only imagine if I stepped into it more and quicker. Definitely a different experience. My first time driving such a car.

^ They sound great, one of my neighbours has one and loves it to death. Kudos on Ford for building such a good car. It's really the direction BMW should have gone (engine/platform wise) with the successor to the E9x M3.

Nope, it was a blue one. He was in the white group and I was with a student in white. That thing passed us after 5C and was GONE.

I believe they use a different engine for racing. Also I heard it is hard on brakes. Nice car though.

R?

Passed two current Mustangs on the way home from the gym this morning. Also one in the parking lot.

They've morphed into quite a large car.

For sure. Not much between that and the challenger, which I have always thought is a large car.
