After Market Warranty
Does anyone here know where I could potentially get a 3rd party/aftermarket warranty on a 2008 Porsche in Canada? Looking at selling the car but buyer is looking for warranty at 4yrs/80Km. The porsche currently has only 24K km.
Thanks for your help.

I'm hoping you aren't the one that's going to pay for this warranty. If it is, I would find another buyer. This person is going to be a PITA.

I'm always amazed people would be any weight in a aftermarket warranty. Imo you'd almost always have issue getting them to pay out on a "claim". I had a trans issue on my first car ( used civic). They wanted receipts from everything... What oil I had in engine and other stuff that had nothing to do with the trans all in a effort to find a exit. It was lubico or whatever it's called. Smoke n mirrors. I'd say no beino to the buyer, it a used car ..look it over go with your gut...... or maybe just go buy the one with miss matched tires and paintwork on every panel from the greasy guy with the pointy shoes because he can set you up with a 3rd party warrenty that isn't worth the paper it's written on.

Sometimes you are even forced to use their approved garages..
Dealing with these 3rd party companies is a pain. As you said they want bills for every light bulb, what air is the tires etc. I remember a client needed a front wheel bearing on her BMW, not a huge deal but her warranty said it was covered. I knew dealing with those guys would be a pain. She called and filed a claim, a few hours later I get a call asking for photos of the car, if it has all the oil change records and proper documented servicing. I provided him with what records we had but that wasn't good enough. I asked him to explain how oil changes would effect wheel bearings.. This was the explanation I got
"The wheel bearing is connected to the axle this is connected to the transmission that is connected to the engine. Not changing the oil often means the engine is working harder and putting stress on other components "

damn oil, an oil change is the cure all for everything dont ya know. Put the money you will spend on an extended warranty useless piece of paper in a rainy day fund, it's the smarter plan all around.

Also.... not be Mr negitive or anything. But a buyer like that might/will be pain when he's sending you emails 3 yrs from now asking things like "are you sure those tires were only 2 yrs old when you sold me the car, because one is flat now.... btw where's the jack in this thing"

Lubrico is actually one of the good warranty companies. I have a couple of friends that saved tens of thousands by getting one of these.
however you must buy the car from one of their approved dealers, not private.
Shouldn't the buyer be doing the research on this?
