***** Registration details for Fall Drive ******

Due to the thunderstorms forecast for Oct. 15th, we have decided to move the drive to Sunday Oct. 22nd. Everyone who registered will be getting an email showing the new date.

This year we'll be using MotorsportReg.com to manage registration for the Rennlist Canada Fall Cruise, making it quick and easy for you to register online!

The Fall Cruise at Brocks Monument on October 22nd is live online and open for registration. Pcars (and trucks) only please! Here's the link to sign up:

http://www.motorsportreg.com/events/...onument-506151

If you don't already have a MotorsportReg account, you will be prompted to create one as part of the registration process. If you have questions about how to use MotorsportReg, email msrhelp@motorsportreg.com and they'll help you out.

See you there!

Obviously you need a route thats interesting and near enough to everybody yet far enough into rural areas to get flow. You'd want to map the route for time and to avoid traffic lights and left turns. Those really hold up the flow. The drive will probably include a lunch break at the end or a breaks during the ride. You'll want to give proprietors a heads up as to how many guests they'll be seating.

Do not publish the route on line.

Hey Ted,

I would be willing to pitch in. We have a modified version of the old route that avoids many of the problem areas.

But reverse, ending in Niagara for lunch at Betty's as we did on the spring cruise.

Give me a ring when you have time.

What Jim said pretty much sums it up. Take last year's route and improve. Finding a pee break on that route is damn near impossible. The Tim Hortons we used the last 2 years is the best option I've found yet.

Above all, pre-drive the route a week or less before. This is critical. You need to make sure there aren't construction zones, closed roads or other issues that will interrupt the drive.

I might be out this year, unfortunately. My band's on tour around then, and I'm away most weekends.

IMO the other element that is crucial is two way radios. Without them there is no communication and people get split up. We did the spring run route for Sharks in Ontario this year and we had one quick left/right turn and 3/4 of the group followed one person that made an error.

The radios allow the leader to announce turns to the group in real time.

The fall run can have a massively unpredictable turnout. you are much better off going to a buffet style place that can seat many . Food is not the greatest but everyone can get food quickly and be eating.
This is why I usually pick Tuckers marketplace. The Manderin is another option , or really any place that is designed for mass eating. People are usually very hungry by the end so always recommend bringing snacks and a drink. Stopping 50-80 cars even in groups can be challenging as Christien pointed out.

oh and the fall run HAS to have a tunnel

That 928 is not mine! Field mice chewed the fuel line in half.
You really bought one of those overpriced condos?

Yes, the tunnel is a must, every summer I go at least once through the tunnel on my own, I go through it then turn around and go again, exit Pine street, go back, turn around, do this 3 or 4 times, then I figure out the cameras have had enough and next I will see a cruiser looking for me and I go to Niagara on the Lake....
