Default Macan operating costs over 32 months...

I'm trying to decide on my next daily driver and took a look at what my Macan S cost me to own/operate over my 32 months and 61,500 km of ownership. This was a lightly optioned 2015 that stickered for about $65,000. All in, it was approx. $77,000 out the door. Trade in with tax savings was $50,850, so that leaves $26,150 or $817/month. Add $4,000 in maintenance (should have been $3,000...long story....) and $1,800 for snows for a total of $181/month...just shy of $1,000/month all in.

Got a quote on a 3 year 24k/yr lease this week for the same value car and it was $1,300 tax in with no Mtce.

Not a bad deal when purchasing!

you should be able to do a bit better. I recently ordered a similar Macan but with an MSRP of approx. $72600 and the lease payment for 3/24 (nothing down) is $1218 (all in).

Interesting...MSRP of $66,610 @ 5.4% and 50% residual was $1299.78. Wonder why yours is less?

What dealer Moab?

I would also be interested in this information, as I am currently looking to replace my '13 Cayenne Diesel. Thx.

As I indicated to Onami, the residual he provided is low. Mine was 55%.

Thanks Moab! That probably is the difference. Residuals change throughout the year, but I am surprised it has dropped 5% so early in the model year.

I wouldnt expect a different outcome. Porsche doesnt position itself to have attractive leases. And considering the great resale on the cars, why would you lease in the first place? Before someone says "for business expense reasons" you can get the same with a purchase...

I expect my GTS to cost me about 800$/mo all in for 4 years of ownership. About half the lease payment. My last S4 cost me 550$ for 2 years (62k car and 6k in mods).

Should the opportunity cost of investing the trade-in value be considered in the number crunching?

That and/or the potential financing charge. I paid cash, so I didn't bother calculating that but should have.

Moab, thanks again for the info. My sales rep at PCO emailed me this morning. 55% residual is for 36 month/8,000 km per year. 50% is for 36 months and 25,000 km/yr.

that's because it's a Porsche (I enjoy driving it, esp. in the weekends), not a garage queen.

What killed me the last few years is living in Oakville with a son playing rep hockey in Toronto!

Mine is not a garage queen either. I live and work in the city so round trip is 20km a day. Weekends I drive more, but hard to put on serious mileage in a year.
