Default Anyone import thier Porsche to Australia

Hi all.

I'm coming back to live in Australia next year from London and I'm planning on bringing my 993 back with me.

I am just starting to do my research on shipping but I have a questions hopefully someone who has imported their Porsche might know.

Do you know if there are any restrictions on ride height? I am about to get my suspension done and I was going to get Bilstein HDs and lower it to RS+10mm ride height. Then I had a terrible thought in the back of my mind, what happens if it get taken off the boat in Australia and they say it has to be min ride height.

AU Standard is Front 154mm, Rear 147mm
and I am going to go RS +10 (Front 134mm, Rear 117)

hope someone might know.. many thanks

I have no experience but would guess getting it in is not going to be a problem. you may have issues getting it registered though, if the ride height is considered un-roadworthy. Where abouts in Oz are you moving too ? You should be able to get info on local authorities website

peace

Back to Sydney.. Bondi... so Rust Prevention is high on my list of things to investigate before coming home. I guess you still have the same concern in Melb.

I am not sure how big the Porsche community is back home as this is my first one so it will be interesting.

Oldish thread but it might help you out none the less, I'm pretty sure most states have a 100mm ride height limit so you should be safe.

As for the community, there seems to be a pretty active Porsche club in each state so that'll be a good place to start.
