Default 944 Owners

Are there any Australian 944 owners out there?
It would be great to chat to a few of you. The US Rennlist site is an invaluable source of information but I would love to see some "local" stuff, ie. spares, after market accessories, recommended mechanics, perhaps even the chance to meet up with some of you to compare vehicles.
I have only had my car a little while & am dying to have a look at someone elses, just to compare & find out whats standard & whats not etc.
Anyone out there??

Default One, at least.

I have a '89 951 in Melbourne. There are a few others in Porsche Club Vic. Try www.pcv.com.au. There should be a link to the NSW club. Your best source of information is Adrian Harkin, a tech at Porsche Centre Melbourne - he has a 86 Turbo. He does a superb job on my car.

I bought one yesterday, so I can't really help you out on Aus-specific info, but would be interested if you could track some down!

42 "hits" to this post and just 2 replies.
Are you guys scared or just very shy. There must be more than 2 944 enthusiasts in Australia.

Default Chris N from Melb, are you out there?

There should be at least one other lurker. Judging by my PCV experience. most 994 owners must be less IT literate.

Nice to hear from you RUCOOL.
That's 5 of us "locals" so far.
Noticed you don't have the "send Private Message" option available.

RUCOOL,
No probs. Are you into flying? I have spent the last 25 years in the aviation industry & as you can imagine I have a bit of an aircraft "bent"

That's three. Gliding is much more fun than power.

PCMAX,
I have been flying hanggliders for about 14 years, I have tried other
types of flight but I like the feel of the hangglider, Kind of like
a winding road and a Porsche.
BTW, most Sunday mornings I go for a run on the Old Pacific Hwy. at
around 7.30 am.
If any one wants to meet up ,post a reply.
Russell.

I have been talking to GLEN 2002 about getting together. I haven't been on the old Pacific hwy since my motorcycling days. The Suday morning run might be do-able for all of us (well 3 that is)
I'm also trying to get Glen to join me at at track day at eastern creek.
Take a look at www.motoconcepts.com.au

Sounds great, but I would need a track car, my 951 is in too good condition
to put it in a tyre wall.
Thanks for the link.
Russell.
