At least the weather for next weekend's PDS is looking dry.

Mike,
Thanks for the kiss of death on this weekend's weather. I'm blaming you if the tunnels are flooded for the third time this year when I am at the track. ;-)

Well you never know with someone who laughs like this while behind the wheel.
WRT the weather, we got off lucky yesterday. It was supposed to rain, it rained all around us, but stayed dry even with my rain dancing which consisted of bringing the car without rain tires.
Besides, if the tunnels are flooded just come around back - the fence is also gone just use caution when merging your truck and trailer with lap traffic if you show up after 8.

I'm here today for a private event. It got moved back, so some time to kill. I kind of regret never working corners. I went to each normally manned station and took pictures. Some stations must have had incredible sights during DEs or races.
The inside of T7 is really rock, not sand/gravel as it appears from the track. You can see all the way to the T6 entry from the T7 station.
T13 station is really close to T13 and T12 looks a long way away. Amazing considering the number of T12 offs that turned into T13 flag station strikes.
The T6 station is also very close to the T6 apex.
Really a shame to see it go.

I refuse to get sad or mad over the passing of the TWS, but it has been a meaningful place to me. Made some of the best friends I have ever had there, including my SO. Time moves on, and so do I.

So Long and Thanks for All the Fish
I got to spend kind of a neat day there yesterday. Private event got pushed back at the last minute and I had a few hours to kill. Pretty much had the place to myself. Eerily quiet with nobody around, the paddock empty and a bit of wind blowing through the grass. I took the opportunity to go to all the normally manned flag stations and took pictures from them. Kind of wished I'd worked some of them, as the views must have been spectacular.
Looking at the corners brought so many memories back, nailed apexes, great battles, incredible saves, lurid spins, and ag excursions and even the perma-grin from my first track weekend.
TWS and LSR PCA introduced me to this thing we call a sport. PCA and other organizations introduced me to so many wonderful people I never would have met otherwise. So many quality friendships and I'm grateful for it. These are the best friendships I've had in my life.
Once the clients showed up - all complete newbies, TWS was at it again creating memories and permagrins as good as she ever did.
I'm not afraid to admit I need to detail my truck, it was a bit dusty in there as I pulled out for the last time to the backdrop of another Texas sunset.
Alas, onward and upward, heading the MSRH next weekend with PCA. Chin will be at TWS next Saturday and there is an open day next Sunday - get in while you can.
