Racing at Laguna 8/4-5.... Be nice to see the areas around the track... like the crappy torn indoor/outdoor carpet on the outside of 11.......get replaced/spruced up We'll have to wait & see if it really gets better...

Doesn't take away from being a signature track...

Don't misunderstand, I love racing at Laguna... It's my favorite track! Saw my 1st race there, (CanAm), in '70 if I recall correctly... But, it's like after hanging out in the French Quarter in New Oleans at night, daylight does it no favors... I really hope SCRAMP moves ahead...

Hey don't criticize turn 11 they rip the carpet up and now what's left is a glue coated concrete which is grippy so you can exit turn 11 like you do at Road America and straddle the birm

Yeah, I hope they spend some of that money on the track itself. Though I agree, I'm fine if they don't replace the astroturf at 11.

they also fixed up the exit of 6... no sand after the birm.. i think its asphalt. i wasnt brave enough to test it, but its not sand anymore.

In thinking about 11, it does look pretty shabby, even though it is grippy with the astrturf gone now ... they do need to clean that up.. I dont think turf is the answer.

Wow, I haven't been there for two or theee years and it's a lot worse than the last time I walked it. They don't need rest rooms more than they need to work on the track...

most of the problems have been delt with. plus that looks like a winter day , so much of the track has drainage effects on the sand. (normal).

check out the difference between the VR's old pics vs what i saw last month. take a lap and see, that the track is still pretty nice! there are no "sandbags" or ruts like the pictures show. I have a few pictures below to show what it looks like currently!

I wish Willow Springs would do something.... It has not been touched in 50 years.... And when a modern competing track was going to be built down the Road from Willow Springs, the WS family fought hard against it...... Yet still have a crappy track.

^^^^^ would love to see them improve Willow Springs too. They have enough land and elevation to create a couple of very nice tracks.

We were at Laguna a couple weeks ago and Turn 11 is just fine. I walked it after hours and can verify the concrete outside the rumble strip is smooth and grippy.

Now if the owners/operators of Willow Springs would put a couple $$ into improvements.... At least rake all the big rocks from the edge of the track surface, that would be a start. The last time something was done at Willow Springs was about 5'years ago when Red Bull repaved the big track to shoot a commercial with one of their F1 cars and IIMC Tom Cruise... Aside from that, it's the same as its always been.

Laguna Seca is like the third best track in Northern California. It has a ton of history and a famous signature turn...but it's not the best track.
