Default Rollbar Question - GMG, Cantrell, BBi for 997.1

I have done searches and trying to figure out what is best but a bit unclear. The Porsche Mechanic that races installs GMG mostly. He has not done Cantrell but reading it sounds like a great bar and he will install other options. This would be in a 997.1 and looking for a used one. Worst case will go new. My mechanic will do the install. In 2017 are GMG, Cantrell and BBi close in strength and where the attachment points are? I am assuming the GMG RSR is the one to look at if going GMG? I will be putting in racing seats - possibly Halo. I have a sunroof. Sorry as I know this topic gets beat up. Also - this will be used for DE's - no racing. I get the benefits of a full cage, etc. This is a 3rd car that I will be driving to the track not a DD.

My personal recommendation is to get a bar gets mounted to rear shock towers in the rear and gets support to the floor on the front. DAS makes a great such bars also. I was always advised against bars mounted to seat belt bolts that were called "glorious" harness bar.

Thanks and I agree. I think the ones I mentioned do attach to rear shock towers but I will make sure.

Do you have the Bose Sub, and plan on keeping it? BBI has one that works with the Bose sub so if that sways your choice on ditching it.

Thanks for the reply. I do have one but don't care if I have to remove it. This is a track car and won't get driven much outside of going back and forth to the track

+1 Dassport

In my 996 it really stiffened the chassis. You will have to loose the Bose Speaker deck.
