Nice, the vintage group ends early so we old folks can head out for the early bird special dinner.

Too bad the non-vintage, non-clubsport enduro doesn't start til 2:50.

2 in vintage, 11 in GT4CS so, at present, 45 in Red/White. It'll hopefully change.

Was nice to all be done the enduro early last year and be able to shoot the breeze while grabbing a bite and a refreshment.

I agree with francois

I recommended to alex to take out enduro pratice and/or enduro qualify to make enduro race in the morning so we could all leave earlier...

Good idea. You can easily do without qualifying and go with Saturday times to set the grid.

Default David Murray coaching

David Murray will be at Monticello for PCA national as their race adviser to the GT4 CS series, July 14-16. When he is not busy with the GT4 CS series he is available to all participants to view their video/data or answer any questions anyone might have as the PCA national coach.

Default Updated Tentative Schedule

Thanks to the flexibility of our stewards, today we updated the tentative schedule for the Monticello Club Race on clubregistration.net and reprint it below. Starting at the same time as the other days and eliminating enduro qualifying shortens the day for everyone.

I seem to remember the original schedule having a sprint qualifying on Saturday. This is no longer there. Too bad, because I can't make it Friday and was hoping not to start from the back of the pack.

No, the first tentative schedule announced set the grid for Race 1 based on Friday's Practice 3 and of course the grid for Race 2 is set by fastest lap of Race 1. That is common in PCA racing because Race 2 and the Enduro are typically the points races. I understand that is not the case for the 994 Cup.

Personally, I like qualifying sessions, even if short, for both the sprints and the enduro, particularly if I'm sharing a car for the enduro so we can choose who qualifies. (I am terrible at qualifying, even worse than racing.) That's why we had enduro qualifying in the first tentative schedule. Only four people were sharing cars, though, so it was not too hard to cancel qualifying and start at the same time as the other days so that people could get home two hours earlier.

You'll note that the races are each scheduled for 5 minutes longer than their stated lengths. That is to allow cars to leave the grid at the start time and make it to the green flag with the full amount of time (30, 80 or 90 minutes) to race. There are also 10 minutes between the end of a race and when the next group leaves the grid. That allows time for cars to exit the track and corner workers to attend to on-track issues.

There were about a dozen internal drafts of this schedule that you did not see, but that served to educate your volunteers, mainly me. We have a strong group of stewards at this race, and we will all benefit from that. Consider thanking them when you see them.
