From the sound of it, I'm not sorry I missed it.
The Boxsters all gridded behind everyone else. On the out lap Hunt held back and got a good gap between groups. An agreement had been made that the leaders would go at the bridge. Except for one, everybody that I could see back the field played nice and it worked. I did get a nice start so maybe that's what makes me think it worked well. We had some great racing for a few laps before a double yellow came out for a car in the bus stop. During the caution we caught up to the rest of the pack so for the restart we all came screaming through a bunch of D and F cars but that worked out OK too.

I understand that not everybody got the word and that shouldn't have happened but it should have been fairly obvious that a split was happening when we lined up separately.

On another note, I couldn't believe that they left Lainey sitting at track out of the Outer Loop for so long. The car in the Bus Stop wasn't in that much danger but she was.

Believe it was the outside of the outer loop/chute, not a safe place to be parked, we are coming through there wide open in 4th !

So going by this thread, the only cars racing this past weekend were Boxsters and E cars.

I seem to remember seeing a few others. 😜

Was behind you killing my 'rains' as well....

Manny - great drive and good tire strategy for the enduro!

First time at Watkins Glen and the learning curve was awesome/fun/crazy. I got 1st loser twice (2nd) on the points races for various reasons but am pleased overall because my car is in one piece. There wasn't a shortage of drama on the track but that seems to be what WGI is all about and why it's a "big boy" track. I look forward to coming back again next year and racing with the competitive crew in the NE!!

I did squeak the track record which easily has another 0.5 secs of driving improvement. I had a 2:10.6 going on another lap by not bouncing off the rev limiter so much and getting to power sooner.. but I blew it in T8. Ugh!!

Default Non Box or E car

You might have missed this car, he was going faster than Spec Boxsters. He did 1:51.9 in sprint 1.. The old PCA record (his) was 1:53.3 in 2016. Excellent race between John and Cory Freedman.

Yes, I saw that. Sprint 1 was fun to watch. At the end of sprint 2 all I could think was "That was an expensive parade."

Well, there was the Yellow Group with the GTB1 cars that was a lot of fun. I had a great start in Race 1, but completely lost my front tires after lap 3 so just struggled to survive until the end from then on to the end. Congrats to the Master, Charlie Belluardo for the win and John Giannone with his 996 for second place. Who said you had to have a Cayman to be competitive in GTB1?
