I think there were 5 cars in the whole race that were not involved in a crash.

I thought for a while, the only remaining car may have been the pace car. Jeff Gordon does a good job with race coverage.

Complete garbage, throughout.
Suffered through most of the spectacle/debacle while getting some work done. The new Monster drink sponsorship with the spaced out 'models' really classes things up.
As above, some good drivers though.

Not a NASCAR fan, but have to admit the last 10 laps (which was all I watched) were entertaining and worth the price (free ).

Friday USA Today reported that Nielsen says NASCAR TV ratings are down 46% since 2005 (now that's a crash!!!!)
The stage system is designed to add more action, and retain viewers throughout a broadcast.
Act of desperation? Inspired solution? Nielsen will know first.
What I kept thinking during the race: My car at Daytona is doing 145 just past start/finish drafting the car ahead of me. Running that tight and bump drafting at 190mph is something.

I find restrictor plate racing totally boring. All you do is watch them run in a giant pack with nobody able to make any moves for 3 hours. It's total luck who wins by being the one to avoid contact. What did they say? Only five cars didn't have contact throughout the race? Think how much money that cost the teams.
That stage thing is dumb too. Another contrived way to make the race more interesting, by chopping up a long boring race into three boring races.
You know, I don't think I'm going to waste my time even watching it anymore, even though I have nothing else to do.

Three Wheelin'
I watched in my shop while I was finish welding my rollcage... I would never take time to actually sit and watch a whole race.. My Question is.. What are they going to do about the 5 min crash rule when they run Bristol? I guess we can watch the pace car win...
