The wine and tapas place mentioned is GRAFT, located on Main Street near the Harbor Hotel
Quite good as we tried it in late October.

Actually for a roadside chicken joint it was pretty good. Awesome neon sign. Another piece of Americana gone.

You guys are stirring up great memories of Savards,. Damn I miss going there for breakfast and that brown water called coffee..

Went once to Mr. Chicken., kinda hooked on steaks at the Seneca lodge for dinners, then walking to my room/cabin after a few in the bar..

You guys should ask them what the recipe is so you can eat the chicken and have a touch stone of the past.

say it aint so!?

One of my favorite dives on the club racing tour.
I even enjoy the plastic gravy!

Now my chances of returning to Glen for 2017 are even less.... lol

For some at least it's about the nostalgia. I remember as a kid that the Budweiser can-am team was testing at WGI the day after a PCA track day. We'd stayed over before traveling home, and saw Al Unser and his team having breakfast at Savard's before heading up to the track. We went back to watch them drive for a while before heading home. Pretty cool! Food at Savard's, not so much ...

The breakfast at Seneca lodge is remarkably similar to Savards - both in flavor and cranky service. And its on the way to the track....

Mr. Chicken was also, in addition to chicken, a freaking PIE emporium. How the hell am I supposed to drive the second half of the day without a piece of Mr. Chicken pie after lunch.

I was amused when David Hobbs spoke about Mr Chicken and the Seneca on air. I met him at a PCA event and told him so--I'm pretty sure he thought I was out of my mind.

Rip Mr Chicken.

Rip Mr Chicken.
One and only time I visited the Chicken was when Marc and Mindi dragged me there one very rainy day.
They are also the only reason I toured the old GP course.
Both expeditions started with them exclaiming 'what?!, you've never been to...??'
I guess I should get out of the garage more often.
