Pics? Anyone drive it to say how it feels?
Just hope they leave the bumpy bits alone so as not to truly change the character of the track.

I have run it 3 times since the repaving...the first time out was only a week or so after it was done and the part in the long sweeper of 6 was very bumpy...i was there this past Sunday and it felt just fine now...seems to of smoothed itself or been smoothed out.....
the repave in the braking zone into the hairpin seems just fine too...if anything there is a bit less grip there but hasn't really effected my braking markers
it is odd the first couple of laps around seeing the new pavement.

I'll probably get stoned for saying this, but the surface at Sebring sucks and it would be a much nicer place to race and drive if they just resurfaced the whole damn thing.
The romantic view of the bumps in T1 and T17 are BS. It does give locals or those with a ton of experience there a slight advantage over others as it's more like a rally course versus a road course, but just like Watkins Glen, it'd only got better by being smooth.
I don't care about the fact that it's the toughest course on cars (by orders of magnitude) and that Audi used to test their P1 cars there -- that's what test tracks are for. In fact, I don't like testing my cars there for that very reason.
The fans and the events at Sebring are awesome and worthy of a much better track.
The surface is simply a joke.

Plus on a personal note, because of the bumpy surface, we lost the lead on the 10th hour of Sebring 12 in 2013 (GTC in ALMS) because a tail light got loose and they black flagged us to fix it...

On a more positive note, it's a good place to shake down a new car because there isn't any other track in the country where you could possible find a more abusive environment.

Love Sebring and drive it a lot. Home field is definitely an advantage there.
In regard to the new paved areas, I think the grip is not what it was before. I had all kinds of issues braking into 7 and went through a few times. 6 is easily dealt with. Not sure if 7 will get better or what. The asphalt is not even close to the quality of the repave at Watkins or VIR.
Adjustments will have to be made. My old brake point is no more. Earlier braking required. They only paved the left side into 7 so the passing zone is about the same.
Hope it's better next time I go.
