Sad News: Shawn Price
I remember when I met him at Thunderhill. He was just starting out.
He was a great guy and great racer in the early days of the Porsche Racing Club.

Really sad news. I raced with Shawn with Farnbacher-Loles in the GT3 cup series just after he won Daytona 24 hours with them. One word to describe him would be intense. In my first pro race in the Koni Challenge, he tapped me in the back several times on my first lap on the restart till he got by. Have not seen him race in years but he lived an amazingly full life, though much too short.
Here's a quick story...
Mid Ohio, 2005, second GT3 cup USA race of all time, qualifying day. We were ready to qualify but Shawn was nowhere to be found until he was finally phoned by his friend and Farnbacher head of operations Peter Goebel. Shawn was still in bed at the hotel as most of us were heading to pregrid, he raced to the track while his mechanic brought his car to grid. I saw him on the golf cart heading to his car just before we started, amazingly he made it to the track in just a few minutes, still sick. Somehow he shaved TWO seconds off his best time with a 1:29 flat on his 4th lap, for 7th place
Shawn raced "Kermit" seen on the left, I had the silver car

Sad and sobering. Any info on what killed him so abruptly?

Rest in peace Shawn. Condoleances to those who knew him.
It's sad news indeed to hear a fellow enthousiast and someone who's lead life to the fullest being ripped away unexpectedly.
