Captain Slow is almost ready for WRC Rally Finland 2107. WRC top speed is 200km/h on those narrow roads

Finland is a tiny country and I believe it has more professional race car drivers per capita than any other country out there.

At least that is what my father in law (a Fin of course) claims! Seems believable when you look around though.

I would think growing up driving most of the year on snow and ice would teach you this kind of car control as second nature.

I thought the idiots had stopped standing within deaths reach of these cars as they went by after group B was done. I guess I was wrong.

the most amazing things is that these are not tracks they have practiced for hours in a SIM.... (like F1, IMSA etc)

these are long runs (instead of 2:05 laps) they might or might not have taken once or twice on a practice and they have a codriver telling them what is coming up.

the other amazingness is the jumps that are in a corner... turn in starts before getting airborne and they land mid corner....

and we worry what might break on a suspension or how we upset the car too much if we take the upper part of a curb....

thats the amazing part of the talent... its not like you can shift your weight in the air like a dirt bike... they time and position perfect on take off and can correct on landing. WOW!
