Video and Data from Mont Tremblant
Here is some data and video from the Banana at Le Circuit Mont Tremblant last week. The Banana is a 2,000 lb 914 with a stockish 3 liter running on Nitto NT-01 tires. Nothing too exotic besides a lot of data acquisition in it.
All thoughts, critiques, and constructive criticism accepted! I see lots of things I can tidy up in this lap, but it was quick!

Congrats on your new PB! Nice brake pressure profile into T8 and Namerow!

Cool track.
so, if you are accepting "all" observations. I have a quick observation:
Blip downshift a gear at :22.... Even though its a low accel part of the turn initially, it would get you in position on the exit of the second turn, to be at a better HP range. (You do this at 1:33 well and seamlessly well)
it would be easy and non disruptive to get it in the lower gear and not effect the balance during two turn transition before you are pointed straight and want to accelerate. You are probably losing 50hp , for a few seconds , on the exit berm when pointed straight.
I dont know the redline of your 3liter (i assume a 1980 Carerra motor ), but it looks to be 7k?
I added a common 3.0L porsche engine dyno run below. you can see that it doesnt pay to shift this one past 6400rpm (under most circumstances)
and that if you are caught coming out of a turn near 4200rpm, a downshift brings you back to around 5500 for a 40hp gain, instantly and throughout most of the straight part of the exit of the turn and the first part of the following straight.

Thanks! We can get you there too. For a whole 3 day event, I focused on having good brake profiles. Every time I hit the middle pedal, I knew what I wanted to do. I practiced before going out, sitting in the grid, etc. It sank in pretty quick.

It probably requires that kind of singular focus to get there. But once I get on track and start looking at my lap timer all my best plans to go out the window. Easy to fall back onto bad habits. Maybe I just need a Matt Romanowski bobble head on the dashboard to remind me what to work on! :-)
Seriously, the idea of dedicating an entire event to perfecting ONE thing is key.
