From what I know, there are no 2017 cars, once these first set of 2016 cars are sold, that's it, no more production.

These kits will be available for purchase to upgrade current cars to run in FIA GT4 specs....

Any word on what the upgrade kit will involve?

i like the CS and may move in that direction as its sorted and they become available after the 2yr Pca agreement expires. I went from 50 days in a well modified Gt3rs eventually on DH slicks to prepare for my current car. The cup was was not as difficult as I expected. Started to feel comfortable by the second day. Not having abs is the toughest part of the learning process... Still learning but it's been a great experience!

You would think a bit of everything. More aero, more power, more suspension bits, less weight.

I assume need a bit of help to keep pace in PWC GTS, where it's clearly evident Porsche wants these cars running. It falls much more in line with the budget-conscious ethos of the car. I imagine the yearly operating costs in PWC GTS pale in comparison to Continental GS......

PWC GTS its just a small slice of the GT4 World. Every continent runs a GT4 class series with many brands participating, and that includes the famous VLN and N24 race.
Running costs are half or less than GT3 and laptime wide it should be a 8:45 car on the VLN track vs. 8:15 for GT3 or 8:25 for Cup Cars. Plenty fast for the $.

Seen this posted before but makes no sense and is completely inconsistent with Porsche's goal of developing this class or their approach to club racing.

^^^ Possibly just a hiatus due to production capacity?

I agree, there's been an awful lot invested if it's to make it an orphan.

We run a car in the UK.

It will have a lower minimum weight, currently approx. 70kg too heavy.

The upgrade kit will consist of - 2 way dampers, carbon doors & bonnet, ARB's (blade style), new exhaust, potentially new spoiler and a data package.

Wonder what data package? Bosch or Cosworth?

I would be happy with either however I suspect it may be a more "affordable" offering. I have heard rumours of an AIM system.

The US Trophy East and Trophy West Series mandated the Motec C125/AiM SmartyCam HD system for this year (for scrutineering/incident investigation purposes).
