Default What 900HP looks like

Skip to 1:00, and watch the drag race. 918 and a 900HP GTR TT Beast.

The next lap, 918 overcooked it a couple times, and new company flies by on back straight. Pirelli World Challenge is in a couple weeks, so a few teams were there practicing. How often do you get to drive behind a TRAIN of WC cars?

(yes I know, I don't have data hooked up....Racelogic still has nothing for the GT4)

I was in the GTR. That 918 was fast on the back straight. I was doing about 160 mph and he was at least 15 mph faster. It was nice to see a 918 being driven hard, as intended. Great video. Thanks for posting!

To the OP: Looks as if you were doing a good job of staying close with 380 HP. Nice job.

It was fun watching you chase him around. That was the first time I had seen a 918 in the flesh, let alone at full boil.

Optical allusion - that's an F1 track, it bunches cars up - I only wish!

Jacy:
This is in your new GT4?
So 4 -5 sec slower than the RS?
Comparable or much different tires?

918 was presumably on Cup2s, it looked pretty stock when I drooled over it at the TRG tent.

GTR, correct me if I'm wrong jmIIIgtr, looked like Pirelli DH?

Same tires, first weekend at COTA I really focused driving the GT4 (Blue) and I was about a second off a good lap in the RS (Red). Here is the trace...corner speed was superior, but despite lower drag, it can't match the speed or acceleration at high speeds (the Mezger was something special).

LOL - and they get the point from SierraLima in the 115 rwhp 1.6 Spec Miata as they come around T20, a car that could only hit 107 on the back straight but still did 2:54.30.

Correct. Pirelli p-zero slicks. Track started drying out as the video progresses.

That's a good point, it was lightly raining in that session - video quality not great on the sd vbox.

I don't know. Those videos were not to say anything about my driving - just what seeing two 900HP monsters look like disappearing into the horizon.

I would guess that whatever class the GT4 CS is in will probably run in the very low 20s, high teens.

Nice driving. Those two drivers were at least two run groups below your skill level.

I was expecting the 918 to be much faster - kudos for taking it on the track but from what I observed he was missing the corners by miles! Looked like a fun day.
