PCA 48 Hours at Sebring

Perfect weather today. Had lots of fun. Always enjoy this event in part because it makes me feel like a better driver than I actually am, given all the drivers from other parts of the country who aren't as familiar with the track. :-)
Any RL'er who wants some grilled burgers, stop by our RV today or tomorrow just past turn 1! :-)

Been here all week. Running full schedule 2 cars this year:
#9 black GT3 (street car - not a cup) running in GT2 with the cups.
#213 white 911SC 3.0L running in E.
New track record in GT2 during qualy.
My first time at Sebring in an E car. Getting my butt kicked by Hupfer and Close.

I don't think PMNA necessarily had a line out the door to plunk down $500,000 for a race car (without any spares) so no requirement to commit to a full season. That said, I don't think they necessarily would sell it to anyone (but what do I know) - I think some relationship with PMNA or PMNA knowledge of the buyer is always helpful. They were focused on delivering the cars to the teams running the 24 first. Andy ordered this in the early fall and when I last spoke to him he was thinking about running some PWC and perhaps Petit Le Mans later in the year. Surprised the car was already delivered but I can't wait to see it in action.

I wonder if a well driven 997 GT3R will hang with him. I saw Chip Romer seemed to be right with him. Both cars low 2:07. I'm sure 2:06s today. I'm heading over to Sebring right now to watch that first race. Damn I need a car!!

You and me both on the latter.

Raining pretty hard, I'm in bed with the flu I think and my car has electrical problems.
Haven't done more that a hand full of laps all weekend, at least started one sprint race so that's fun. Accumoto is trying to pice my POS together for the enduro tomorrow.

Raining stupid hard here now, thank god the day is over for racing.
I had a mixed day. Out in front in sprint 1 and got taken out while while 3 of us in SPB where trying to get around a slow SP2 car coming out of Turn 1. Thankfully it was just a rear bumper that was trash afterwards. Went out for Sprint 2 in 4th and managed to work my way to the front when the rain came with 3 laps to go and we were deep in traffic. RR's in the rain made for an interesting turn 17. Last lap was at 50% speed and throttle. Managed to pull off the win which made up the cluster f*** of Sprint 1
Had set a new lap record in Practice 3 yesterday at 2:29.455, but that got broken again in the Warmup this morning by Drake with a 2:29.324. Love how close the SPB racing has gotten in the last year.

Good battles in a variety of classes at this event!

That explains why you weren't around when I visited Accumoto late this afternoon. Get better. I spent Sat and a Sun in the hotel room with the flu 2 years ago. I was barely able to fly Monday. Nasty stuff.
