Great season, the best racing there is right now ! Olaf Manthey is retiring, will now do VLN and Nurburgring 24 Hours. Porsche has a new GT car coming and it won't be a 911 based car...Will be Mid-engine and all new. Probably won't see it until 2017 so no Porsche in GTE Pro in 2016. GTE AM will run the 2015 991 RSR. At least that's the rumor. We'll see what happens in the off season. I am really looking forward to 2016 to watch Porsche defend their position in LMP1 !

In 2016, no more Team Manthey. More then likely you'll see factory drivers with Proton, IMSA and other private teams.

Sportscar 356 reported that for 2017, Porsche is developing a 911RSR that will be a "mid-rear" engine design. Sounds like a "BMW like" tons of waivers car. They have shelved the 960 mid engine car for fear of eroding the marketing of the 911. Guess Porsche will hope for BOPs to keep the 911 competitive. What a disappointment!

Don't know what the rules say about moving the engine's position around within the chassis but I wonder if it's related the article above. The "modular" chassis would allow them to use the same platform for the different models but would it also give them the ability to sell you a rear-engine 911 and race a mid-engine platform?
