Incredible isn't it? That 919 is just so fast. These are the new "917 legend" days that we are living through right now, setting new performance heights at every race. We will be able to say "we remember" when kids are talking about the 919 at Rennsport in the year 2045 !

Hard to imagine that PORSCHE will build faster, better handling, better braking race cars yet still. But next year will be here before you know it and there will be even faster cars !

The pace of the 919 is just astonishing. They blow by the RSR's. You really have to see it to believe it. From what I understand, they are not all that many seconds off the pace of the current F1 cars.

A full 10 seconds a lap at COTA from what I can find--1:46 for the 919 in 2015 WEC qualifying compared to 1:36 for the Mercedes F1 WO5 in the 2014 F1 race. The 911 RSR ran 2:06 in qualifying, so that's a 20 sec. delta to the 919, which is a pretty shocking speed differential for a 2-minute lap...
