Yes. Safety improvements were made last Winter. See here for more. Also, they added an electric car charging station.

I would like to see something done about the deer other than drivers taking them out with their cars.

"What goes on here in Winter? Safety improvements! We are currently working on Turn 9 and Turn 8, driver's/rider's right. Existing tire walls are being pushed further back improving runoff room. Work will continue back towards Turn 6 driver's/rider's left with reshaping of tire wall and pushing existing wall back a bit further in those areas as well. More updates coming soon!"

"This is what the "island" at the exit of Turn 9 looks like now! Notice there are now more tires, a double row, and they extend from the fence line all the way along the length of the "island". Careful grading by our maintenance crew made sure that spectators could still see the track from the fence. The trees that used to be at the top are also now gone. More captions on the photos."

"Just a few more shots of right side of turn 8 on the SPR. Run off has been improved and now a double row of tires instead of single row. Belting will be added before work is complete in this area."
