Can one of you comment on the track and what it is like to drive? I was thinking of headed up there soon and wanted to see how it compares to my regular tracks like Road Atlanta and VIR. It looks like a ton of fun, perhaps more technical. Thanks for your input.

I'd be surprised if anyone who has driven VIR and SP (assuming SP Main) would characterize SP as more technical than VIR. It's a fun track and a good time. Paper towel dispensers work and everything!

Be aware that on July 24th they were restricting travel over the bridge into the main paddock to 8500 pounds. Basically all trailers. I think this is a recent development; and it limits your arrival and departure times some as the alternative entrance requires traveling through the gate by turns 6-9 and across the track. Not sure what the status of that is but anyone trailering their car would be advised to call and get the details from them.

Here is Robbie having some fun on a wet SP Main. It's a very fun track. I will be there for Porschefest.

Summit Point Motorsports Park

Bridge update: As many of you are already aware, our old trusty bridge to the Summit Point Circuit is in need of replacement. Until then all traffic over 8500 pounds are asked to use the new temporary access road to the paddock. To access the new road, continue straight past the bridge to turn 10 via the access road and follow to the new road across from Pit Out.
We have scheduled a bridge engineer to begin preliminary inspection for the new bridge in the next few weeks and expect our new bridge to be installed after the 2015 Season concludes.
Thank you to all for your patience in dealing with this inconvenience.

Cars can use it..Trailers have to use the t10 croSsing which will be opened at breaks.....aka 10 min track downtime

Not a big deal but appreciate posting

I have heard they made improvements to the track and grounds but never heard any details. Anyone know?

They built a new bathroom in the paddock a few years ago.
