POLL: The best PCA Club Race Of The Year (with a twist for fairness)
#31
Racer
Road America and Sebring are the best "Events". RA for all the stuff that Greg said, Sebring because it's in Florida in Feb and regardless of how it's organized and run, it's still in Florida in Feb. The best tracks are CTMP, Mt Tremblant (a write-in on the list?) and Road America. Cant' vote for the Glen but it's high as both an event and a track.

So many of these are a wonderful way to spend a weekend with 200 other Type A personalities. A very tough choice (...which is why I started this thread)
I've been driving Road America since '90 or '91 (Greg Turek: Lance Flynn was my first instructor-- remember him? What an eye-opener my first ride was with a guy who knew how to drive) and racing there since '03. The one race I won't miss.
But some guy made up the rules so I can't vote for TRAC.
Love Atlanta. Great track and the organizers are wonderful. I don't even mind the slight chance of rain.
The Glen is top notch. So much history and another great track. Good swag and good places to re-hydrate. Not to mention the trash talk before and after on RL.
But like many of you, I've voted for Sebring...
Mid-winter. Chance to expose white legs to mid-winter sun (most years). One of the biggest entry lists in PCA CR. Good sized fields in most classes. Seeing a couple buddies get Points Championship trophies on Thursday. Perhaps even more history than Watkins Glen. Some great turns. Another cool new poster each year to continue lining the garage. Some great turns, especially the turn of 1,000 lines: #17. Unexpected but good places to pass. But man does that old bomber base really beat up the car. Broke in the enduro the last two years. Still love going down there however. My OTHER must do weekend.
Oh yeah... getting to see Susan Shire receive a standing ovation every year.

Getting back to writing articles. Apologize for rust.

PCA got booted from Grassroots, probably because NASA gives out mag as part of membership.
